Seattle 2.0 Awards to Honor Start-ups
Local start-up supporters hand out "best of" awards.
Seattle is the second largest active start-up market in the U.S., boasting a host of local business all vying for attention.  With 400 active start-ups, 100 of which were created in the last year, it can be hard to sort through them all for the newest and most innovative. Seattle 2.0 has graciously volunteered to step in and reward the most outstanding start-ups, entrepreneurs and members of the community at the second annual Seattle 2.0 Awards. Nominations for the awards can be made by anyone on the Seattle 2.0 website through March 22, 2010. There are 11 categories including Best Startup, Best Start-up CEO, Best Entrepreneur Blog and more. Following the first round of nominations, a panel of 40 judges composed of local investors, bloggers, journalists and capitalists will narrow down the selection. The final vote will be cast by the community from Apr. 12 to May 11.   The award's ceremony will be held on May 18 in Elliot Hall at the Bell Harbor Conference Center in Seattle.  The ceremony is open to the public and anyone who wants to attend can purchase tickets through the online event signup. Tickets sold out ten days before the event last year, so if you are interested, buy yours early.
